Is it Orcs or Orks?

What is the correct spelling? Is it Orc or Ork?

Popular Usage:
In popular usage both spellings, "Orc" and "Ork", are synonyms (both refer to the same thing). Similar to how "catchup" and "ketchup" are synonyms. For example the makers of "Warhammer 40000" choose to spell it "Ork". While J.R.R. Tolkien, in his books "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings", spelled it "Orc".

Our Usage:
"Orc"
...is used to refer to all of the "Greenskins" that inhabit the world of OrcMagazine.com. ("Greenskins" include: Orks, Goblins, Gremlins, Hobgoblins, Ridgelings and Gorkens. All of whom consider themselves, and each other, to be "Orcs". Sometimes Orcs will use the term "Greenskins", "Orc-kind" or "Orcies" when referring to all green skinned members of their society.)

"Ork"
...is synonomous in the Orc Magazine Universe with "
